Far more attractive than the typical long, rectangular cardboard box used to hold fireplace matches, this triangular wooden box stands approximately ten inches tall by four inches wide by three inches deep. Fireplace matches ten inches in length will fit perfectly in this box, protruding slightly from the opening in the top of the box where a single match can easily be plucked.

Padauk (pronounced pah-DUKE) is a lustrous, reddish-brown wood sustainably harvested in Africa.

The triangularly-shaped box and the inlaid accents were carefully cut and fitted to meet at precisely at each corner. A solid wood bottom is pinned with wood dowels to the inside the box near the bottom edge, giving the box an elevated appearance.
